Did The ‘Ice Man’ Kill Jimmy Hoffa?

leave a comment »

From the Orlando Sentinel comes the announcement of an upcoming book titled, The Ice Man, Confessions of a Mafia Contract Killer. It describes not only the murders of a cop, dozens of homeless persons, and torturing other helpless victims to death but also Jimmy Hoffa, Teamsters union boss. The author, Richard ‘Ice Man’ Kuklinski writes about his gruesome career killing over 200 people throughout his life.

The murder and subsequent hunt for Jimmy Hoffa’s body was the headline news in the late 1970’s. His body was never found. The rumors ranged from being buried underneath the field of a football stadium, crushed in a car trunk and sold as scrapmetal to being crammed in a 50-gallon drum and sunk at sea. This was the second sensational murder to invade my innocence as a teenager. The first? Charles Manson’s horrible rampage.

Is Kuklinski bragging or is the murder of Jimmy Hoffa finally solved?

Pope Pius XII Nears Canonization

leave a comment »

Pope Pius XII, whose actions during the Holocaust have made him a source of controversy, is close to being declared a saint, Italian media reported. Sources in the Vatican said the present pontiff, Benedictus XVI, has been under pressure to move ahead with the process of beatification of Pius XII, a status that would render him immune from criticism by Catholics.

Nobody Dies After Eating Dead Dolphins

leave a comment »

Four hundred dead dolphins were found off a two and half mile coastline in Tanzania, Africa. Cause of death is not been determined, although poisoning and starving to death has been ruled out. Local villagers eating the meat have not been affected. United States Navy is trying to rule out submarine sonar use in the area as the culprit after 68 dolphins die off the coast of Florida.

We Eat Chickens For Lunch

leave a comment »

Except for the ending of the VietNam war and the massive non-recruiting efforts of the military during in 1975, I would have gone into the military service after high school along with my best friend who did go. Military bloggers keep us abreast of what is going on in the war of Islamoterrorism in the Middle East. Their updates are so important that’s why I’ve posted the links to some of the best. They are right in the middle of the fire where we can’t be, not holed up in a Baghdad hotel like the MSM reporters. Bloggers like Frank J of IMAO, Derek Brigham of Freedom Dogs, and Captain Ed of Captain’s Quarters are my heroes and have come up with a way to combat the liberal chickenhawks.

We’ve seen the names here at CQ in the comments section — the term “chickenhawk” has appeared more than once, and others in the blogosphere have assigned us to a unit called the 101st Fighting Keyboardists. I’ve thought about that for a while, wondering what exactly about both epithets appear so
fascinating to left-wing bloggers. As a middle-aged grandfather supporting a chronically ill wife, I have few options for doing my part in the war on terror.

After 9/11, I spent weeks looking into different options for service while trying to balance my family obligations. Our family found out just three weeks after the attack that the Little Admiral would soon join us, and the implications of terrorism and war weighed heavily on my mind. I resolved to use the skills I had — writing — to make the case for fighting a forward
strategy against terrorists.

Eventually that led me to this blog, but in the interim I argued for a continued muscular offensive against the Islamofascists that had murdered thousands of our fellow Americans.

Is that the same as military service? Of course not. The men and women of the military do the real fighting, and we salute them and support them by supporting their mission. Milbloggers give us the best of both worlds by not only defending our nation and fighting (and beating) terrorists around the globe, but also by reporting on the fight first hand. There is honor in engaging in public debate for policies which we believe are in our nation’s best interest as well. For many of us, we know that without presenting our arguments in the national forum, many in the media and the public will quickly overpower the debate and threaten the policies we feel give us the best long-term opportunity to defeat terrorism and the states that fund and shelter them.

Many on the left disagree, however, and often they provide challenging arguments and valuable perspectives on policy and the manner in which it gets implemented. However, many more do little but make ad hominem attacks on those with whom they disagree. They spend a great deal of effort labeling people rather than providing rational arguments on policy, and even the labels they select don’t provide much more than amusement.

Please support our fine men and women in the military by keeping up on what is actually going on in the Middle East by reading the Chickenhawks’ blogs.

Rush Limbaugh: Not Guilty

leave a comment »

It’s all over but the MSM’s crying. Rush Limbaugh’s wins two year battle against the state by pleading not guilty, reimbursing for the cost of the investigation, and charges being dropped after 18 months with continued treatment under his doctor that prescribed the medication.
