Obama Caught In A Not So Serious Grave Fence Straddling

with 2 comments

Last Sunday, May 17th, Obama told his audience:

Obama said in a speech Sunday that “strong countries and strong presidents talk to their adversaries.”

“That’s what Reagan did with Gorbachev,” he said, adding, “I mean, think about it: Iran, Cuba, Venezuela – these countries are tiny compared to the Soviet Union. They don’t pose a serious threat to us the way the Soviet Union posed a threat to us. And yet we were willing to talk to the Soviet Union at the time when they were saying, ‘We’re going to wipe you off the planet.”‘

Obama said Iran was a threat partly because it had been emboldened by a war in Iraq backed by Bush and McCain. “Iran is the biggest single beneficiary of the war in Iraq,” he said.

But after being lambasted by John McCain for being weak and empowering the enemy, Obama had this to say:

Obama has responded forcefully to the criticisms. “Let me be absolutely clear,” he said Monday in Billings, Montana, “Iran is a grave threat.” But it was not, he said, in a league with the former Soviet Union.

So which is it Obama? Does Iran pose a threat or not? Memories of Kerry’s top ten flip-flopping statements including “I voted against the bill before I voted for it.”

Flip-flopping is the modus operandum of the Democrat party. Whatever you do, lie to win. Fool the voters – what do voters know anyway?

  1. Re. the article on Obama. I think it is ill-conceived to call any party “Liars” or any name. That is policital bull-crap, IMO. I’m still not decided whom I’ll vote for, but Obama is a possibility – as is Mr. McCain.

  2. Hey you’re entitled to your opinion but this is not political Bull Crap.

Flip-flopping is lying. Saying that Iran is a small country and no threat and then two days later after getting lambasted say that it really is a grave threat is lying. Which one is the truthful statement and what Obama believes? Who is he lying to? You or himself?

Saying that you didn’t hear your pastor say racist remarks over a 20 year period then a week later say that you did and you’re not going to is lying. As in the past, Obama carefully parsed his words. Without specifically saying he heard these extremist comments, Obama acknowledged hearing comments by his longtime minister, the Rev. Jeremiah A. Wright Jr., that “could be considered controversial.”

“Did I strongly disagree with many of his political views?” Obama asked. “Absolutely — just as I’m sure many of you have heard remarks from your pastors, priests, or rabbis with which you strongly disagreed.”

In making that remark, Obama maligned the vast majority of clergymen who would never utter the kind of anti-American hatred that Wright spews forth on a regular basis.

At the same time, Obama implicitly defended Wright by saying his anger against America was understandable.

Obama called Hillary and Bill Clinton liars. Wait… he used the words not factually correct. Untruthful statements.

The one thing about George W. Bush is that he’s NEVER said a bad word about anyone, not Bill Clinton, not HIllary, not Obama. He’s said he disagrees with their policies and their beliefs. But he’s never attacked anyone’s character like the Democrats do.

Obama does lie… and it’s liberal MSM’s saying so.
